"Why shouldn't I just shred myself?"
We are more convenient. KnightHorst shreds in 15 minutes what it takes your employee 8 hours. This gives employees time to do what they are paid for - their job. We also are much more secure. Operating an office shredder is such a mundane and distasteful task that many documents that were supposed to be shredded find themselves being thrown in the trash. Also, "seventy percent of information theft is committed by insiders, such as temporary workers, contract workers, disgruntled employees and people moving to other companies" (Business Week 1998). We require no presorting of paper or removing of staples and recycle the material afterwards. We fulfill your shredding needs in a much quieter and cleaner way than office shredders.
"What is on-site shredding and off-site shredding?"
On-site shredding is done directly at your place of business inside of our truck. We transport your bagged materials from the consoles to our truck where we have a built-in shredder. Your materials are shredded in this confined area for maximum security.
Off-site shredding is done at our location, away from your place of business. Your materials will be transported to our location and then shredded.
On-site shredding is much more secure than off-site and is what most of our clients prefer. KnightHorst Shredding can provide off-site services for you if needed.
"How is our material stored before pickups?"
Your documents and media are stored in the locked security consoles in your office. These consoles are attractive but secure. They have a slot on the front large enough to place your materials but small enough to prevent someone from obtaining your private information. You can place your copiers, printers, fax machines, etc. on top also making them a nice piece of office furniture. Inside these consoles are durable nylon drawstring bags that are replaced during each pickup. Only KnightHorst and your company contact will have access keys to your consoles.
"What exactly can I throw into your containers?"
You can place any papers, regardless of color, with staples, paper-clips, rubber bands and even entire folders into the consoles. You may also include media such as CDs/DVDs, floppy discs, and VHS tapes.
"Are you bonded and insured?"
Our employees are fully bonded and insured. We also do extensive background checks on all of our employees and random drug tests to ensure your security.
"How can I be sure that my documents have been destroyed?"
Following each service, you will receive a "Document of Destruction" certificate verifying in writing that the service took place. If you are still not satisfied, KnightHorst welcomes you to view the service yourself during any pickup.
"How often do you come to shred for us?"
This will depend on your individual needs. We can schedule pickups weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and even just one-time clean-outs are available.
"What happens if our container is full before the regularly scheduled service time?"
If you require an unscheduled pickup simply call us and we will service you. If you continually seem to fill your consoles before your scheduled pickup, we will adjust the service frequency.
"Are you authorized to perform HIPAA related document detruction of medical records and medical electronically stored records?"
Yes, KnightHorst can fulfill your HIPAA requirements.
"Who must comply with the Provisions of the The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)?"
The privacy provisions in the law require that all financial institutions and insurance companies comply. For information concerning this law or any other questions you have send them to us in Your Feedback.
